Nation’s education undergoing major transformation – Sector Minister

The Education Minister, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, has announced that the current education transformation in the country would soon change the fortunes of the country. He explained that reforms in the sector such as the changing from Diploma courses to Degrees by Colleges of Education, the introduction of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education and the revamping of Technical and Vocational Education and Training were among the changes in the sector. Reports are that there is an anxious wait for food supplies in senior high schools across the country as students are hungry and forced to feed on the little available. Education Ministry investigates Kumasi Islamic SHS chaos

The Ministry of Education has launched investigations into Monday’s chaos on the campus of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi. At least 30 students of the school were hospitalised following a clash between irate students and crowd-control police there. The students were protesting against pedestrian knockdowns involving some students and teachers of the school.
