The inauguration of the French Assembly of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) was greeted with rapturous applause and excitement by the over 2000 congregants gathered at the PENSA-KNUST church auditorium yesterday. The Volta River Authority (VRA) has awarded full scholarships to 61 needy students from communities impacted by its operations. The GH¢800,000 scholarship covers payments of the tuition and hostel fees of the students who have gained admission to study at the various tertiary institutions such as the University of Education, Winneba, the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, the University of Cape Coast, the University of Health and Allied Sciences, the University of Energy and Natural Resources, technical universities, Colleges of Education and the Nursing Training Colleges. Suspension of UTAG’s Strike: Lectures Begin Today

The 15 public universities in the country are expected to resume full academic activities from today following the suspension of the industrial action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). This is in spite of the referenda being held across the various branches of the association to ratify or reject the decision of the National Executives Committee (NEC) of the association to suspend the strike, which began on January 10 this year. Per the constitution of UTAG, lecturers are supposed to be back in the classrooms once the strike has been suspended. This is whether or not they start the process to vote against the decision or not.
