The Ghana Football Association’s Appeals Committee has dismissed the appeal cases filed by AshantiGold SC and Inter Allies FC over their respective misconduct decisions of the Disciplinary Committee.
On May 16, 2022, the GFA Disciplinary Committee announced the demotion of AshGold and Inter Allies to the Division Two league at the end of the 2021/22 football season after they were found guilty of match manipulation in their 2020/21 Ghana Premier League match day 34 game. They were also fined 100,000 Ghana Cedis each.
Owner of AshantiGold, Dr Kwaku Frimpong and CEO, Emmanuel Frimpong received 10 years and 8 years ban respectively. Asante Kotoko’s Richmond Lamptey and other players along with other officials of both clubs also got banned.

The Vice-Chancellor of Pentecost University, Apostle Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, has urged ministers of The Church of Pentecost to be purposeful about the “possessing the nations” agenda since it is central to the work of the ministry.

Black Stars vice-captain, Thomas Partey, will travel with the Arsenal squad to the United States for their pre-season tour.

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) team led by Carlo Sdralevich that visited the country to assess the prevailing economic situation after government requested for support has concluded its evaluation exercise.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the team expressed the commitment of the Bretton Woods institution to support Ghana.
“We reaffirm our commitment to support Ghana at this difficult time, consistent with the IMF’s policies.

Legendary highlife musician, Alfred Benjamin Crentsil, popularly known as A.B. Crentsil has reportedly died at age 79.
The news was announced on Facebook by sound engineer, Fred Kyei Mensah on Wednesday.
According to Fredyma, the veteran musician has been unwell for some time.
“Farewell A. B. Crenstil. The original composer and singer of the famous and controversial songs, ‘Moses and Aba AB Crenstil, has died!
“He had a stint with a lot of bands before joining the Sweet Talks Band with Smart Nkansah and then his own band, Ahenfo. His hit songs, ‘Juliana and Obi ba wiase cannot be forgotten,” the Facebook post read.

Often, those suffering from the condition, as well as those related to them or even mental health professionals who attend to them, are stigmatised because of their association with the mentally ill person.
In Ghana, the Mental Health Authority (MHA) estimated that 3.1 million people were living with one form of mental disorder, accounting for 10 per cent of the general population and 16,000 people experiencing severe mental health disorders as of 2021.
