Preserving indigenous cuisine: Twifo Hemang holds Food Expo

The Twifo Hemang Lower Denkyira (THLD) District office of the Centre for National Culture (CNC) has organised its maiden Food Exhibition and competition on the theme; "Our food, our lifestyle" at Twifo Hemang. Participating in the competition, aimed at preserving the nation's indigenous dishes, were the Market Women Association, Ghana National Tailors and Dressmakers Association, Hairdressers and Beauticians Association and Palm Oil Producers Association, all from the Twifo Heman Lower Denkyira District. Among indigenous dishes on display were fufu and palm nut soup, ampesi with kontomire, aprapransa and ԑtᴐ. Pope Francis prays for Nigerian church attack victims

Pope Francis has prayed for the victims of an attack on a Nigerian church in which at least 25 worshippers were killed by gunmen. A Vatican statement said he had learned of the deaths of dozens of people. The assault took place in the southern town of Owo, in Ondo state. Officials there have warned the number of casualties could rise. They say a priest and other members of the congregation were abducted by the gunmen, whose identity is unknown. Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari, has condemned the attack calling it “heinous”. A week ago, the head of the country’s Methodist church was kidnapped; he was released after a ransom was paid. The Black Stars of Ghana commenced their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on a bright note after earning a comfortable 3-0 win over Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday. Goals from Mohammed Kudus, youngster Felix Afena-Gyan and substitute Osman Bukari in the second half were enough to hand the Stars a deserved dominant victory at home. Kudus opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when he finished a low cross from Afena-Gyan.
