The National Tree Planting exercise, dubbed “Green Ghana Project” has commenced in the Agormanya Area of The Church of Pentecost. The tree planting exercise, which was undertaken in collaboration with the Manya Krobo Traditional Area and the Somanya District Forestry Commission, was held on Friday, June 3, 2022, at the forecourt of the palace of the paramount chief. In attendance were Nene Ossom Amanor (Akateng Mantse), Samuel Sakitey Kofi (Elder to the Paramount Chief), and Mrs. Priscilla Asomani (Somanya District Officer of the Forestry Commission). 5 cases of monkeypox confirmed in Ghana

Five cases of monkeypox have been confirmed in the Eastern, Western and Greater Accra regions, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) says. One of the cases was recorded in a Ghanaian who travelled to the United States of America from Ghana. One dead, others injured as car drives into pedestrians

At least one person has been killed and eight others injured after a car drove into a crowd on a busy Berlin street. Emergency officials say it is unclear whether the incident, which happened at around 10:30 local time (08:30 GMT), was intentional or an accident. A police spokesperson told reporters that the driver has been arrested at the scene. The incident took place on the corner of the busy Rankestrasse and Tauentzienstrasse in western Berlin. Ghana and Denmark have signed a renewed agreement designed to deploy modern technology on the Volta Lake to determine safe navigational channels to reduce accidents and their attendant deaths. The agreement is part of the third phase of the Strategic Sector Collaboration (SSC) between the two countries in the maritime sector. This phase of the project will be funded at a cost of 10 million Danish Kroner, equivalent to GH¢11 million, to run from 2022 to 2025. Pope Francis has prayed for the victims of an attack on a Nigerian church in which at least 25 worshippers were killed by gunmen. Drivers and commuters on the Tema motorway should brace themselves for heavy vehicular traffic as the Ghana Highways Authority races to fix bridges on the stretch. According to the Authority, the bridges have failed structural integrity tests, hence, the need to renovate them. In an interview with JoyNews, the Lead Engineer with GHA, Aaron Amponsah said the deplorable state of the bridges makes them a national emergency. “The lifespan of these bridges is done.
