The Okyehene Osagyefo Amoatia Ofori Panin has called for a decentralization of Ghana’s health system to help improve the quality of healthcare delivery in the country. According to him, the lack of decentralization has denied many health institutions the right to make decisions that will better the lives of the ordinary Ghanaians. The Deputy Executive Director for Christians Health Association of Ghana (CHAG), Dr. James Duah has expressed worry about the rapid state at which nurses and midwives are departing the country in search for a better working condition, stating that if it continues, may inadvertently complicate maternal mortality. May 25 each year has now been declared World Football Day. This follows a United Nations General Assembly resolution to allow football fans to celebrate the most popular sport in the world. The Koforidua Area of The Church of Pentecost has commissioned a mechanized borehole with two iron removal filters and an overhead polytank storage facility at total cost of Ghc38,844 for Akpo, a farming Community in the Yilo Krobo Municipality in Eastern region. Akpo and, its surrounding communities never had access to safe water since their existence. The estimated population of 2000 residents therefore depended on heavily polluted stream for drinking and other domestic uses which resulted in waterborne diseases among the populace. Few people including nurses and teachers who are able to afford, buy sachet water from Nkurakan township which is about 15km away.
