The Tamale Technical University branch of the Dagbon Students Association (DASA) led by cheif Nurudeendk have organized a maiden Damba festival with a call on traditional authorities to modify the annual festival for economic benefit. These is the first time the Association which has branches across the sixteen (16) regions of the country organized a Damba festival. The Damba festival which brought together eminent traditional rulers, politicians, academia, students and thousands of celebrates from all walks of life was under the theme: “Promoting Dagbon Culture, and Economic Benefit of Damba: the role of Dagbon Students”. Suspension of UTAG’s Strike: Lectures Begin Today

The 15 public universities in the country are expected to resume full academic activities from today following the suspension of the industrial action by the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG). This is in spite of the referenda being held across the various branches of the association to ratify or reject the decision of the National Executives Committee (NEC) of the association to suspend the strike, which began on January 10 this year. Per the constitution of UTAG, lecturers are supposed to be back in the classrooms once the strike has been suspended. This is whether or not they start the process to vote against the decision or not.
