‘I’m not interested’ – Randy Abbey on contesting Kurt Okraku for GFA presidential seat

An Executive Member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Randy Abbey, has confirmed he will not be challenging Kurt Okraku as the president of the association during this year’s elections. Kurt’s tenure as the leader of the GFA is set to come to an end in October 2023 with the 52-year-old seeking a second term in office. The current GFA president is expected to be in a tight race to retain his seat when Congress takes place later this year. Abbey, who guided Heart of Lions to securing a return to the Ghana Premier League, has been tipped to be in the running for the seat. The second batch of Football boots have arrived in Ghana awaiting onward distribution to the 18 Premier League clubs. This follows the GFA's promise to provide each of the eighteen (18) betPawa Premier League clubs and (48) Access Bank Division One League clubs with Thirty (30) pair of football boots. President Simeon-Okraku revealed during the 28th ordinary session of congress on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Ghanaman Centre of Excellence at Prampram that a total number of Five Hundred and forty (540) pair of boots will be supplied to Premier League Clubs with One Thousand, Four-hundred and Forty (1,440) going to the 48 Division One League clubs for onward distribution to their players.
