Ghana and Crystal Palace forward, Jordan Ayew, has brushed off concerns over his inconsistent run of form in front of goal for both club and country. The 30-year-old struggled to score goals for Palace in the 2021/22 season managing only three goals in thirty-one appearances. The forward also went on a year goal drought for the national team until he scored a screamer in the Black Stars’ 4-1 defeat to Japan in the Kirin Cup on June 10, 2022. FIFA trial: Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini cleared of corruption

Swiss judges found ex-FIFA president Sepp Blatter and French football legend Michel Platini not guilty of corruption charges on Friday.  “My fight is a fight against injustice. I won a first game,” said Platini on his acquittal. Prosecutors acquitted Blatter on charges of unlawfully funneling 2 million Swiss francs ($2.06 million) of FIFA funds to Platini, a former France national team captain and manager in 2011. Blatter headed FIFA for 17 years. Platini hoped to be his successor. The prosecution sought a suspended sentence of one year and eight months for both men. The Technical Directorate of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has brokered a deal with three European clubs, namely: Borussia Dortmund, Darmstadt FC and TSG Hoffeinheim for attachment opportunities for Ghanaian coaches. This follows deep engagements between the Technical Director, Bernhard Lippert, and the three German clubs in the last few months. The arrangement will give national team coaches (male and female) and top coaches in the top tier League the opportunity to have practical stints with the clubs at different times to broaden their horizon and also equip them with the modern trends of the game. The Black Stars of Ghana have finished third in the 2022 edition of the Kirin Cup after beating Chile on penalties. After end-to-end stuff in regular time which saw Otto Addo’s side finish the game with nine men, the Stars secured a 3-1 win in the shootout to clinch the third position courtesy of a big performance from Abdul Manaf Nurudeen. German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund today started the first leg of a historic five-day tour of the country with a coaching clinic at the Achimota School Park in Accra. The clinic which was the second event on Dortmund's schedule after their arrival on Wednesday, saw youth coaches and legends of the German club put the youngsters from Shooting Stars FC through their paces. The youngsters were taken through the basics of the sport including passing, shooting and dribbling drills by legends including Victor Ikpeba. The Black Stars of Ghana commenced their 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers on a bright note after earning a comfortable 3-0 win over Madagascar at the Cape Coast Stadium on Wednesday. Goals from Mohammed Kudus, youngster Felix Afena-Gyan and substitute Osman Bukari in the second half were enough to hand the Stars a deserved dominant victory at home. Kudus opened the scoring in the 53rd minute when he finished a low cross from Afena-Gyan.
