The Lead National Computer Emergency Response Team of the Cyber Security Authority has provided insights into the issue of Mobile Money (MoMo) fraud, highlighting that it is primarily a challenge associated with users rather than a systemic flaw. Stephen Cudjoe Sesshie acknowledged that while Momo fraud is a multifaceted problem that has ensnared many individuals in various scams, the primary issue lies with the users of the service. Houses, properties still submerged in water 5 months after flood in Agbozume

Residents in some flood-affected communities in Agbozume in the Ketu South Municipality, of the Volta Region, are still counting their losses after they were rendered homeless by floods. According to the residents, the flood started in May this year, destroying many properties and rendering families homeless, leaving them distressed and frustrated. Some of the communities affected are Nogokpo, Sonuto, Babanawokope, Kpedzakope, and Ativuta among others. They have been blocked and completely cut off from the main Agbozume township. A headteacher in one of the schools, Mr. Shine Bokor said his entire building had been submerged in the water. As a result, he now stays in a guest house. Yeji: 62-year-old fetish priest murders 25-year-old wife on suspicion of adultery, commits suicide

A fetish priest, Solomon Mbalegon, aged 62, allegedly murdered his 25-year-old junior wife, Madam Nakoli Mbalegon, and committed suicide thereafter. Mr. Mbalegon, also known as ‘Okomfo’ Solomon allegedly killed Mrs Mbalegon on Thursday night for alleged suspicion of infidelity at their home at Parambo, a suburb of Yeji, Pru East District of Bono East Region. Mr. Yussif Sulemana, the Assemblyman for the area who confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said Mr. Mbalegon suspected that his wife had been having extramarital affairs with other men in the area. Two people reportedly died on the spot in an accident involving a VIP yutong bus and trailer at Asankare barrier in the Asante Akyem South district of the Ashanti region. The accident which occurred Saturday night also left several others injured. According reports, the VIP bus with registration number GE 6167-19, travelling from Accra-Kumasi collided with the trailer heading to Accra. It is unclear how the driver of the VIP bus veered off its lane and collided head-on with the trailer. Many passengers also were left with fractured limbs. GWCL announces interruption in water supply from Kpong Treatment Plant

The Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) has announced that engineers will be working on the main transmission pipeline from the Kpong Treatment Plant to the eastern part of Accra. For this reason, the management of GWCL in a press statement, revealed that there will be an interruption in water supply from Sunday 24th September to Thursday 28th September 2023. Affected areas include Gbetsile, Afienya, Zenu, Prampram, Mataheko, Katamanso, Dawhenya, Sakumono, Batsonaa, Klagon, Tema Township, Adjei Kojo, Borteyman, Santeo and surrounding areas.  The GWCL urged residents of these communities to store enough water during the period in which the works will be carried out.
