Scientists in the UK and Belgium think they have figured out how brain cells die in Alzheimer's disease. It has been a mystery and a source of scientific debate for decades. But the team, writing in the journal Science, connect the abnormal proteins that build up in the brain with "necroptosis" - a form of cellular suicide. The Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare, has expressed satisfaction with the failure of the 6,451 candidates who took the 2023 Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination in May. According to Mr Asare, it is the highest since the inception of the exam, which is designed to ensure qualified teachers in Ghanaian classrooms.
