KNUST launches GRASAG Research Fund to support problem-solving initiatives

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), through the Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG), has launched the Research Support for Postgraduate Students at the University. The GRASAG Research Fund which happens to be the first of its kind in any Ghanaian University will provide support through research grants for graduate students embarking on research projects. The fund will aid the establishment and operations of a walk-in Research Support Hub where graduate students can find expert assistance with issues regarding their research projects. Nationwide strike: Teachers have failed to comply with labour laws – Fair Wages CEO

The Fair Wages and Salaries Commission (FWSC) has criticised the leadership of teacher unions – Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT), and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers-Ghana (CCT-GH) – failing to comply with the country’s labour laws before embarking on strike. The Commission’s Chief Executive, Benjamin Arthur, on JoyNews’ PM Express was disappointed that the industrial action was carried out without prior notice to relevant stakeholders including the FWSC and the National Labour Commission. The first patient to receive a brain chip from Elon Musk's company Neuralink has appeared to play online chess. Neuralink released a nine-minute video in which the patient, who is paralysed below his shoulders, appears to move a cursor across a laptop screen with nothing but his thoughts. The video shows him playing chess and turning off the laptop's music. The patient, who had not been previously identified, said in the live stream video that his name is Noland Arbaugh, 29, who was paralyzed below the shoulder after a driving accident.
