The President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, has commended the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, for his dedication, humility, and efficiency, describing him as a dependable public servant whose leadership continues to strengthen government operations.
He made the remarks on Sunday, April 26, 2026, during a thanksgiving service organised to celebrate Hon. Debrah’s 60th birthday at Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) – Trasacco in Accra.
President Mahama noted that the sermon delivered by the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, on “The Importance of a Name” was deeply impactful and relevant to everyone present.
“The sermon delivered by Apostle Eric Nyamekye gets to us all; you would think he is talking directly about you,” President Mahama remarked. “He said it, and it is true, that your name will outlive you.”
According to the President, reputation and legacy are critical in public office, especially at the highest levels of leadership.
“One of the major things they tell us when you reach the level of President and Vice President is that both should not attend the same programme together because of security reasons,” he stated. “But the Vice President and I are both here today because of the important person we came to honour—Hon. Julius Debrah.”
President Mahama said he first appointed Hon. Debrah to the Local Government Ministry because of the technical demands within the sector and later recognised his exceptional administrative strengths.
“When I needed a Chief of Staff, there was no doubt he could do it,” he said. “He is efficient, hardworking, kind, and generous.”
He further described Hon. Debrah as a dependable public servant whose leadership and humility continue to make significant impact within government.
The thanksgiving service brought together top government officials, ministers of state, political leaders, business executives, and senior clergy of The Church of Pentecost.
Among those present were the Vice President of the Republic, Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang; Hon. Julius Debrah and his wife, Mrs. Victoria Debrah; Hon. Doe Adjaho; Hon. Kofi Adams; Mr. Tetteh Yohuno, Inspector General of Police; Dr. Osei Kwame Despite; and Eld. Dr. Joseph Siaw Agyepong.
Also present were several church leaders, including Apostle Vincent Anane Denteh, Apostle Emmanuel Kwesi Appiah, Apostle Martin Seth Appiah, Apostle Alexander Nana Yaw Kumi-Larbi, Apostle Ebenezer Agyapong, Apostle Benedict Eghan, Prophet Kwesi Asante Annor, and Pastor Dr. Felix Dela Klutse.
