Sometimes, the simplest moments leave the deepest impression.
That was exactly the case at the opening session of the Pentecost 2026 Conference when the Chairman of the Planning Committee, Apostle Ben Debrah, invited the thousands gathered in the arena to do something remarkably familiar—yet profoundly meaningful.
For members of The Church of Pentecost, the gesture needed little introduction. The opening handshake, accompanied by the well-loved hymn “We Are Together Again,” has become a cherished tradition at the beginning of many church services. It is a simple expression of Christian love, unity and fellowship.
At Pentecost 2026, however, the moment took on an entirely new dimension.
As the music filled the arena, more than 9,000 worshippers from different nations, cultures and backgrounds turned to one another with warm handshakes, genuine smiles and heartfelt greetings. In an instant, language barriers disappeared, strangers became friends and the vast auditorium was united by a shared faith in Christ.
It was a powerful reminder that while the world is often divided by race, nationality and culture, the Gospel has the power to bring people together as one family. The scene also offered a beautiful glimpse of the heavenly picture described in Scripture, where people from every tribe, language and nation worship God together in perfect unity.
What is often experienced in local church auditoriums became something altogether different in a packed international arena. Seeing thousands of believers simultaneously exchanging greetings created an atmosphere that was both inspiring and unforgettable. It was more than a routine welcome—it was a visible demonstration of the global unity of the Body of Christ.
The energy in the arena was unmistakable. Joy filled the room, conversations sprang up across cultures and the sense of expectation continued to build.
Then, with the atmosphere already charged with anticipation, Apostle Debrah declared, “Something is indeed going to happen.” Judging by the excitement and expectancy that had filled the arena, there was little doubt among those present that the conference was off to an extraordinary start.
