The Resident Minister of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Sakumono, Apostle Seth Fianko–Larbi, has explained that the resurrection of Jesus Christ is the foundation of Christianity, offering believers eternal life, victory over darkness, and the promise of new beginnings.
Speaking during the climax of the Sakumono Area English Zone Easter Convention on Sunday, April 5, 2026, Apostle Fianko–Larbi said the resurrection embodies the total sum of Christ’s redemptive work: His death, resurrection, and ascension, as summarised in 1 Timothy 3:16. He emphasised that the resurrection is the climax and proof of divine vindication, demonstrating victory over sin and death, and establishing a new covenant of indestructible life.
“The death of Christ precedes resurrection, illustrating that glory follows pain and new life emerges after death,” he said. He further explained that Easter celebrates this resurrection as a new dawn, bringing hope, healing, and victory over darkness, rooted in the word “Eostre,” meaning dawn and new beginnings. Preaching from Matthew 28:2-7, Mark 16:5-7, Luke 24:1-8, and Romans 6:4, he underscored that Christ’s resurrection signals the start of a new, indestructible life, where divine life (Zoe) triumphs over natural life (bios), empowered by the dunamis (divine dynamism) that raised Jesus from the dead.
Apostle Fianko–Larbi further explained that Christ’s death, represented as S.A.V.E.D (Substitutionary Atoning Vicarious Excruciating Death), exemplifies the substitutionary nature of His sacrifice, reminiscent of Isaac’s ram in Genesis 22 and Barabbas’s release. The term Tetelestai, meaning “It is finished,” signifies the completed work of redemption, law fulfilment, and victory over curses, breaking the power of death and reconciling humanity with God.
He encouraged Christians that despite ongoing struggles – marital, societal, or health-related – the resurrection’s light brings restoration and victory. Faith in Christ’s resurrection equips believers with resilience, divine power, and the ability to recover and triumph even in adversity. It grants positional benefits, including redemption, forgiveness, and adoption, as well as functional effects such as victory over sin, fear, and death, along with spiritual growth, healing, and breakthroughs.
Concluding the service, Apostle Fianko–Larbi prayed for divine favour, healing, supernatural speed, protection, and breakthrough for members, urging Christians to declare the resurrection power in their lives through faith, victory, and spiritual empowerment.
