“Those who had been scattered preached the word wherever they went.” - Acts 8:4 The call to evangelism is not reserved for pulpits and crusade grounds. Every believer carries the light of Christ into daily life whether in a shop, a classroom, a trotro, or on social media. Under the ‘Possessing the Nations’ agenda of The Church of Pentecost, God is calling His people to live as witnesses wherever they find themselves. Colossians 3:23 reminds us that “Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.” A Christian’s work ethic, honesty, and integrity can be the loudest sermon. In a society where corruption is common, a life of truth and godliness shines brightly. Before people will hear your gospel, they must first see your Jesus in you. Words also matter. 2 T...

This discussion aims to inform and engage key stakeholders in the protection of church data about their roles in ensuring a safe place for all. According to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) National Cybersecurity Center of Excellence, “data security maintains the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of an organization’s data in a way that it works with its risk strategies.” Cybersecurity, then, is defined as ...

Church v Patient: Can a Pastor be sued for wrong medical advice?

Church v Patient: Can a Pastor be sued for wrong medical advice?

Health & Wellbeing
The quest for urgent medical solutions is driving some patients from seeking standard medical solutions. Thus, instead of going to the hospital upon falling sick, they prefer to go to pastors, marabout,  traditional healers, prophets, seers, mallams, and prayer camps among others, with the expectation of getting total healing at any cost. Most of them, assert that orthodox medicines alone are not enough; they must be supplemented with anointing oils, counseling from pastors, herbal medicines, and other possible solutions. So when a patient seeks the services of a pastor for medical solutions, do these pastors lace the shoes of becoming ‘medical doctors’   or drugless healers or does the court still consider them as pastors performing their clerical duties?  Is the...

Don’t antagonise leadership of church — Catholic priest

Ghana News
The Parish Priest of the St Kizito Catholic Church at Nima in the Accra Archdiocese, Very Rev. Fr Nicholas Larsey, has appealed to the societies within the church not to antagonise the leadership of the church in their bid to have their say in the management of the church. As Christians, he said, it was inappropriate for the parishioners to be fighting their priests over issues concerning the church. He said while Christians were encouraged to speak out when they saw any wrong in society, including the management of the church, that should be done without malice and in a decorous manner and not out of disrespect. Very Rev. Fr Larsey made the call at the plenary of the Accra East Regional Conference of the Noble Order of the Knights and Ladies of Marshall. The conference was dub...

Man sets fire to church because his wife kept donating to it

International, World News
Tired of seeing his family’s money being donated to the local church, an exasperated Russian man set the place of worship a blaze in a feat of rage. On the morning of June 26, a fire broke out at the Church of St. Basil the Great in the village of Pargolovo, Russia’s Saint Petersburg district. The fire quickly engulfed the wooden roof and walls of the building, and the entire place would have probably burned to a crisp until the firefighters arrived, if the parishioners didn’t put the fire out themselves. Still, the damage was considerable, and local news outlets reported that many of the locals had tears in their eyes as they looked at their local place of worship. But that sadness quickly turned to anger directed at the man responsible for the devastation. In the beginning, m...
