The Patron of the Youth Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, who doubles as the Koforidua Area Head of the church, Apostle Samuel Osei Asante, has encouraged the youth to ground themselves in the Word of God, which is the Bible. According to him, every Christian needs to grasp and allow the Word of God to fill them fully. “Once we understand this, it will give us a certain perspective whenever we approach the Bible,” he said. WHO to convene on June 23 to decide if monkeypox presents health emergency

The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has announced he would convene an emergency committee meeting on Thursday, June 23 to assess the implication of the outbreak of the monkeypox virus. The Ministry of Education has launched investigations into Monday’s chaos on the campus of Islamic Senior High School in Kumasi. At least 30 students of the school were hospitalised following a clash between irate students and crowd-control police there. The students were protesting against pedestrian knockdowns involving some students and teachers of the school. AstraZeneca has partnered the Circular Bioeconomy Alliance (CBA) to support farmers in the Bono East Region through the Living Lab project to improve soil fertility in the region and to also support the farmers to plant cash crops such as cashew. This is to help the farmers to improve and diversify their incomes. The five-year project also seeks to restore the forest landscape of the Atebubu and Wiase forests, and will see the planting of 4.5 million trees by 2025. Lands and Natural Resources Minister, Samuel Abu Jinapor has stated that over 20 million seedlings will be planted this year under the GreenGhana project. According to the Minister, these will comprise both economic and commercial seedlings.
