Torkorni District in the Hohoe Area, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, held a retirement service in honour of six long-serving officers whose dedicated ministries have significantly contributed to the growth and stability of the church.
The service brought together family members, congregants and loved ones in a solemn yet joyful atmosphere of gratitude and thanksgiving to God for lives devoted to faithful service. The congregation reflected on the commitment, sacrifices and steadfastness that characterised the ministries of the retiring officers over the years.
Those honoured were Elder Seth Awanya, who served for 36 years; Elder Felix Tuffour, 24 years; Deaconess Elizabeth Afi Mensah, 33 years; Deaconess Augusta Yaw, 19 years; Deaconess Florence Dzakpasu, 16 years; and Deaconess Regina Tetteh, 18 years. Through their humility, diligence and unwavering dedication, they played vital roles in strengthening the district and supporting its leadership in advancing the mission of the Church.
Delivering a message at the service, Pastor Hope Kofi Lumor noted that although the officers were stepping aside from active duty, their wealth of experience, godly counsel and spiritual support remained invaluable to the District. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their walk with God and assured them that retirement from office does not imply retirement from Christian service.
On behalf of the District, appreciation was expressed to the retired officers for their exemplary service and commitment to the work of God. Prayers were offered for God’s continued grace, strength and good health upon them in the years ahead.
The service was marked by exhortation, intercessory prayers and presentations, all to the glory of God.
