The Sogakope Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Edward Brains Agidi‑Quarshie, has stated that women play a key role in God’s redemptive and transformation agenda and must be fully involved in advancing the Gospel in society.
According to him, women are no longer passive observers in God’s dealings with humanity but active participants who share equally in God’s grace, purpose, and divine assignment.
Apostle Edward Brains Agidi‑Quarshie made these remarks at the official launch of the 2026 National Women’s Week Celebration held at the Sogakope Central Auditorium on Tuesday, May 5, 2026. He spoke on the theme: “Women Unleashed to Transform Society through the Gospel and the Power of the Holy Spirit.”
Addressing the gathering, he challenged women to serve God intentionally, noting that casual Christianity cannot bring about societal transformation. “God does not call us merely to exist,” he said, “but to fulfil His purpose by transforming society through the Gospel.”
He explained that the Church’s transformation agenda must begin with individual believers. According to him, societal change is impossible without personal transformation, as people cannot give what they do not possess. Christian faith must be seen in character, conduct, attitudes, and daily lifestyle.
Touching on the significance of the National Women’s Week celebration, Apostle Agidi‑Quarshie noted that the week should go beyond celebration and social activities. He urged women to use the period to deliberately impact lives through evangelism, acts of kindness, and compassion. He encouraged participants to share the Gospel, guide people to Christ, support the needy, and show care to the homeless, describing these actions as practical expressions of faith.
With scriptural references to Matthew 28:18–20, John 4 and 1Samuel 16:14, he opined that before God commissions an individual, He prepares them for the task. He cited biblical examples including Mary Magdalene, Priscilla, Martha, Prophetess Anna, and the Samaritan woman, explaining that each encountered Christ in unique ways and boldly testified about Him. Although these women are no longer alive, their testimonies remain relevant and continue to inspire believers today.
He stressed that Christian responsibility begins in the home, cautioning against a form of faith that benefits individuals spiritually while neglecting their families. Beyond the home, he said women are called to influence their communities, workplaces, friendships, and nations through prayer, missions support, encouragement, and evangelistic efforts.
In conclusion, Apostle Edward Brains Agidi‑Quarshie urged women to fulfil their purpose by embracing their mandate on earth to positively impact their immediate environment and beyond including their husbands and children.
