A memorandum of understanding (MoU) has been signed between Atlantic Lifesciences, a Ghanaian company, and Vins Bioproducts, an Indian firm to produce anti-snake venom locally, to save the lives of people who are bitten by snakes, sometimes leading to deaths due to the lack of life-saving vaccines. The signing of the agreement for Vins Bioproducts to supply bulk quantities of anti-snake venom for the commencement of the fill and finish production of the serum in Ghana, will reduce the burden on government to continuously import the product into the country. In a crucial session at the United Nations Security Council on Monday night, Ghana abstained from voting on a resolution proposed by Russia concerning the conflict in Gaza. The resolution, put forth by Russia, called for a humanitarian ceasefire, the release of hostages, aid access, and the safe evacuation of civilians in the war-torn region. Parliament passes law to criminalise accusations of witchcraft, practice of witchfinders and witch doctors

Parliament has passed a law criminalising the declaration, accusation, naming or labelling of another person as a witch in Ghana.
