The Church of Pentecost bade a final farewell to the late Pastor Eric Kumi, a gallant solder of the cross, during a burial and memorial service held in his honour at the Sampson Okyere Memorial Temple in the Odorkor Area of the church on Saturday, January 11, 2025. The late Pastor Kumi, aged 51, was called to glory on December 10, 2024, after a short illness. He is survived by his beloved wife and three children. He was a devoted servant of God who significantly impacted many lives throughout his ministry over the past 13 years. Suspected food poisoning: 22 people hospitalised after eating food at funeral

Twenty-two people from Agou, farming community in the Nkwanta South of the Oti Region have been hospitalised due to an alleged food poisoning. The victims are said to have suffered acute diarrhea and other symptoms after eating at a funeral on Sunday morning. While 13 of them have been admitted to Nkwanta South Municipal whilst nine others are also on admission at the Nkwanta St. Joseph Catholic Hospital. The Medical Superintendent of Nkwanta Municipal Hospital, Dr.Theophilus Amoatey, in an interview, revealed that all the victims came with complaints of vomiting and acute diarrhea. The funeral service for the late Queen Elizabeth II is being held today in the United Kingdom. The landmark event at the Westminster Abbey in London has seen numerous leaders from around the world arrive at the invitation of King Charles III. In an interesting turn, however, all heads of state and royals were billed to appear at the Westminster Abbey via a bus with the exception of the US president, Joe Biden who was driven in his official vehicle, ‘The Beast. Though this move raised some eyebrows, it was followed through. These leaders are there to commiserate with the British people and pay their last respects to the former head of the Commonwealth.
