Google has officially opened its brand new office in Accra.
The new office will help support the growth of the Google AI Research team which the company launched a couple of years ago in Accra.
The new office will house Google staff and its AI team to work on research problems and work with local talent and institutions.
The Director-General of the World Health Organisation (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has announced he would convene an emergency committee meeting on Thursday, June 23 to assess the implication of the outbreak of the monkeypox virus.
He says the committee will be tasked to determine “whether this outbreak represents a public health emergency of international concern.”
Mr. Ghebreyesus explained that the decision to convene the committee is also due to a recent “unusual” behaviour shown by the virus as it keeps spreading in countries beyond Africa.

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has launched the EDGE Green Building Challenge for architectural and engineering students as well as professionals in the built environment at the Green Park, Cantonments City, Accra.

Social media giants–Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram are back online after a widespread outage on Monday, October 4, 2021.
The social media apps were offline for about six hours. They used Twitter to update their subscribers on the development.
A lot of people took to Twitter to make jokes about the situation, as the impact of the outage was felt by individuals and businesses who rely on such platforms to connect with their audience and business associates.
