The Church of Pentecost on Monday, October 23, 2023, presented huge relief items worth several thousands of Ghana cedis to support flood victims at Mepe and Battor and adjoining communities in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region affected by the spillage of the Akosombo Dam. Twenty-three church buildings belonging to The Church of Pentecost, a leading global Pentecostal church, have been submerged in water in the Volta Region following the controlled spillage of the Akosombo Dam. Other church facilities like mission houses, particularly the one in Mepe, one of the worst-hit communities, have also been sunk in the flood waters.
