Ranking Member on Parliament’s Health Committee, Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has condemned the Health Minister, Kwaku Agyeman Manu for failing to reopen the Korle Bu Renal Unit. Mr. Mintah Akandoh stated that the Minority Chief Whip had, on the floor of parliament, called on Mr. Agyeman Manu to immediately direct the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to reopen the renal unit; however, the minister has failed to issue the order. The Korle Bu Renal Unit has been shut down since May with hospital authorities blaming the situation on the removal of tax and excise duty exemption on medical consumables. Scientists excited by AI tool that grades severity of rare cancer

Artificial intelligence is nearly twice as good at grading the aggressiveness of a rare form of cancer from scans as the current method, a study suggests. By recognising details invisible to the naked eye, AI was 82% accurate, compared with 44% for lab analysis. Researchers from the Royal Marsden Hospital and Institute of Cancer Research say it could improve treatment and benefit thousands every year. They are also excited by its potential for spotting other cancers early. AI is already showing huge promise for diagnosing breast cancers and reducing treatment times. Computers can be fed huge amounts of information and trained to identify the patterns in it to make predictions, solve problems and even learn from their own mistakes. What is AI and is it dangerous?AI named w...

Reinstate corporal punishment in schools – Prof. Adinkrah-Appiah

At the 63rd Speech and Prize-Giving Day of the Sunyani Senior High School, Prof. Adinkrah-Appiah expressed his concern about the increasing deterioration of discipline in schools nationwide. He attributes this trend to the Ghana Education Service's 2017 ban on all forms of corporal punishment. Prof. Adinkrah-Appiah said that the absence of corporal punishment has led to a laxity in the system, allowing students to engage in various deviant behaviours like smoking, alcoholism, armed robbery, and hooliganism without appropriate consequences.https://cdn.vuukle.com/widgets/quiz.html?version=1.11.12Advertisement He believes it ...

It is ubiquitous in China and also popular in Southeast Asia and within Chinese diaspora communities. Canada's ban is effective immediately.
