The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has reminded the public that companies, institutions and individuals are prohibited from engaging in the foreign exchange business, pricing, advertising, receipting or making payments for goods and services without authorization. The BoG in a public notice dated April 5, 2022, said this is in accordance with the Foreign Exchange Act, 2006 (Act 723), which states that companies, institutions and individuals are prohibited from: i. engaging in foreign exchange business without a licence issued by Bank of Ghana; or ii. pricing, advertising, receipting or making payments for goods and services in foreign currency in Ghana, without written authorization from the Bank of Ghana. From Monday, March 28, fully vaccinated travellers into the country will not take PCR tests from the country of embarkation to allow them entry into the country through the Kotoka International Airport (KIA). Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, has revealed a wide range of plans to salvage the country’s economy. Minister for Communications, Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has appealed to all Ghanaians to register their SIM cards by the extended deadline provided by the Ministry. The SIM re-registration, which began in October last year, was supposed to end this March but the Ministry of Communications in consultation with the Telecom service providers has extended the deadline to July 31st. A statement issued by the Minister read that ''as at 17th March, 14,091,542 SIM Cards have been linked to the Ghana Card, 10,348,532 Bio-Captures conducted and 99,445 New SIMs registered.
