Jethro Initiative To Boost Teacher-Children Engagements – Children’s Director

Jethro Initiative To Boost Teacher-Children Engagements – Children’s Director

Ghana News, Pentecost News
The Children’s Ministry Director of The Church of Pentecost, Pastor Prof. William Otoo Ellis, says the introduction of the Jethro Initiative (JI) by his outfit will serve as an alternative way of increasing engagement between Children Ministry’s teachers and the children. “The membership of the Children’s Ministry is currently more than a million. However, our engagement with our children is mostly on Sunday mornings, and in this dispensation where services have been further reduced to two hours due to COVID-19. This means, we spend less time with the children. It has, therefore, become important to have the JI meetings as an alternative way of engaging children,” he said in a documentary that was shown at the launch ceremony yesterday. He explained that the Jethro Initiative, which ...

Jethro Initiative Is Here To Stay – Chairman

Ghana News, Pentecost News
The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has called on church leaders and parents to wholly embrace and ensure the successful implementation of the Jethro Initiative (JI) of the Children’s Ministry (CM), stressing that the novelty is here to stay. Speaking at the official launch of the initiative yesterday, Apostle Nyamekye said that the JI is one of the major interventions of the Children’s Ministry approved by the Executive Council of the Church. He said that the new world order, which is characterised by the increasing rise of secular humanism, lack of parental attention for children as well as the lack of capacity of most parents with respect to technology in nurturing of the present-day child, among others, has necessitated the introduction of the Jethro I...

Jethro Initiative Officially Launched

Ghana News, Pentecost News
The Jethro Initiative (JI), a newly-introduced programme of the Children’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, was officially launched yesterday at a special ceremony held at the Burma Camp Worship Centre in Accra. The JI has now been fully adopted by the Church after a successful pilot of the programme in selected areas of the Church in Ghana. Launching the novelty, the Chairman of the Church, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, said that the strategic importance of children in ensuring that the “Possessing the Nations” agenda remains relevant and sustainable from generation to generation cannot be overemphasised. He said that the JI has been initiated to complement and strengthen the activities of the Children’s Ministry in building the foundation of the children in Christ and His word whil...

See Beyond The Church Of Pentecost – Chairman Tells CoP Clergy

Ghana News, Pentecost News
The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost (CoP), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has advised ministers of the Church to be Kingdom-minded and to look beyond the CoP fraternity in order to influence their brethren in other denominations. This, he claims, will ensure that they “possess the nations” by instilling the values and principles of God’s kingdom in every sphere of society. Apostle Nyamekye said this during the opening session of this year’s Officers’ Retreat at the Tarkwa Worship Centre today. “If we truly desire to possess the nations, we must strengthen our fellowship as a Church, look beyond our horizons, and strive to connect with and influence our brethren in other denominations,” he said. In his sermon, he stated that the 2022 theme, like the Church’s previous three themes, a...

Every Leader Must Be Able To Handle Pressure – FAD

Ghana News, Pentecost News
Apostle Lawrence Otu-Nyarko, the Finance and Administration Director (FAD) at The Church of Pentecost (CoP) Headquarters, has disclosed that, one of the factors that could enable church leaders to excel in their ministry is their ability to withstand pressure. He stated that pressures from followers (members) and other co-workers could cause leaders to make poor decisions in times of crisis, stressing that, the leader must be able to maintain a “cool head” and calm composure at all times. Apostle Otu-Nyarko said this when he preached this morning on the topic: “Equipping the Saints to Watch Over Their Ministry and Complete It” at the Ministers and Wives’ session of the ongoing 2022 Tarkwa Area Apostolisation. Using scripture references such as Ephesians 6:11-12, Heb...

The Church Of Pentecost Bids Farewell To The Late Elder Owusu Kissi

Ghana News, Pentecost News
Teeming mourners involving relatives, prominent members of society, as well as ministers and members of The Church of Pentecost, paid their last respects to the former Finance Board Chairman of the Church, Elder Emmanuel Owusu Kissi (Retired), in a glorious funeral service held in his honour at Suhum on Saturday, February 5, 2022. Unlike the typical funeral service, which is characterised by an overwhelming display of emotions and grief, this event was instead a celebration of the life of a faithful soldier of the Cross whose life could easily pass for a template (role model) for all Christians, particularly officers and members of the Church. It was, therefore, fitting that after listening to the glowing tributes paid to Elder Kissi’s extraordinary life, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo ...

Tackling The Prophecy Controversies In Ghana: An Open Discussion

Ghana News, Pentecost News
Many Christians are displeased with the way the prophetic ministry is being handled by some “men and women of God” in Ghana as against the noble biblical standards of Christian leadership. The glorious ministry that is one of the five-fold apostolic ministry, characterised by the virtues and fruit of the Spirit, as stated in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Galatians 5:21-22, appears to have largely turned into a harem of ungodliness, mischief, and vices on the Ghanaian Christian landscape. This article discusses fundamental issues of the desperation of a section of the Ghanaian public concerning “prophecy about deaths” of certain individuals, the chaos it creates among the populace, and the ridiculous behaviour of some so-called prophets behind such prophecies. An attempt will be made in the articl...

The mobile telecommunications companies have ramped up technical logistics to improve their services towards the ongoing SIM card registration exercise. As part of the improved logistics, the mobile network operators (MNOs) will, from today, use an updated version of the app being used for the registration, increase the number of smart phones being used for the exercise and increase the number of registration centres to include distributors, all retail outlets, as well as some selected agents. The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Telecommunications Chamber, Dr. Ken Ashigbey, said those interventions were part of efforts to make the exercise more efficient and convenient for subscribers. In an interview with the Daily Graphic, Dr. Ashigbey said: “Last Thursday, an updated versi...
