The leadership of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Atiwa East Constituency has thrown its full support behind the nomination of Mr. Ernest Owusu Ntim, the current Constituency Chairman, for the position of District Chief Executive (DCE). At a press conference held in Anyinam, the Constituency Youth Organizer, William Kyei Barfuor, speaking on behalf of the Constituency Executive Committee and ward coordinators, announced their unanimous endorsement of Mr. Ntim. Construction works on a new China Mall project near the Kenkey Factory Traffic Light area in Koforidua have been temporarily suspended following an order from the Eastern Regional Minister, Hon. Rita Akosua Adjei Awatey. The Minister’s directive comes in response to complaints from residents in the area, who claim that the activities of the Chinese developers have worsened flooding in their homes. The project, spearheaded by Chinese investors, is situated on a parcel of land recently acquired near the Kenkey Factory Traffic Light.
