A dramatic daylight robbery unfolded at the Pan African Savings and Loans, located adjacent to FBN Bank on the Spintex road in Accra. According to reports, two young armed robbers trailed someone carrying a bag full of cash to the bank. The robbers, who had reportedly been hovering around the Top Pharmacy opposite the bank, seized the opportunity to strike when they spotted their victim. Despite the intense exchanged of gunfire between the robbers and the Police, they managed to escape with the cash. Some people who witnessed the incident said there was a delay in the Police response, which may have contributed to their escape. Fortunately, no casualties were reported. Ghana’s national amputee football team, Black Challenge has been crowned champions of the 2024 African Amputee Football Cup of Nations (AAFCON) tournament.The team trashed Morocco 2-1 to emerge champions in the finals played on Monday night.Ghana has now won the Amputee AAFCON back-to-back after also emerging as champions in 2021. The Ghana Black Challenge is also a champion of the 1st African Para Games Football, held in 2023. They’ll represent Africa in the Amputee World Cup in 2026. They are expected to arrive in Ghana on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Cyber Security Authority warns of rising social engineering attacks as WhatsApp scams surge

The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has reported a significant increase in incidents of individuals falling victim to social engineering, resulting in unauthorised access and account takeovers on WhatsApp. The CSA noted that 187 reports have been recorded as of April 2024, matching the total number reported for the entire year of 2023. Victims are being tricked into sharing their WhatsApp verification codes with malicious actors, leading to these breaches. The CSA urges users to remain vigilant and avoid sharing verification codes with anyone.
