The Electoral Commission (EC) has confirmed that recounts of votes have been conducted in some constituencies as part of the ongoing collation process for the 2024 general elections.
In the Suaman Constituency of the Western North Region, a recount was recorded at a single polling station, followed by a final recount at the constituency collation center.
This was confirmed by the Returning Officer and later endorsed by the EC during its final press conference in Accra ahead of the declaration of results.
The EC stated that, approximately 60% of the results nationwide have been collated at designated collation centers, with some constituencies requesting recounts to ensure transparency and accuracy.
The Commission commended the professionalism exhibited by Returning Officers and party agents, acknowledging their pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of the electoral process.
Details of the Suaman recount and others will be fully integrated into the final collation and declaration of results.
