Heaven Is Looking For You! – Apostle Nyamekye Challenges Believers To Transform Society

The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has challenged Christians across the world to become God’s instruments for transforming society by boldly proclaiming the gospel, living authentic Christian lives, and embracing sacrificial service for the advancement of His Kingdom.
Delivering the opening sermon at the Pentecost 2026 Conference in Oberhausen, Germany, on the theme, “The Gospel, the Holy Spirit and the Transformation of Society,” Apostle Nyamekye said the gospel, empowered by the Holy Spirit, remains God’s answer to the transformation of people, cultures and the systems that shape society.
He explained that God established the Church not merely to exist within society, but to influence it so profoundly that the world would feel its absence if it were removed.
He acknowledged the growing challenges confronting Christianity, including rising secularism and the expansion of other religions in many parts of the world. However, he urged believers not to be intimidated by projections or discouraged by prevailing trends, but instead to respond with renewed passion for the Great Commission.
“If Jesus Christ is God—and He is—then He must be proclaimed as the Lord of lords and the King of kings,” Apostle Nyamekye declared, urging Christians to continue proclaiming the gospel until “the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of God.”
The Chairman further noted that while technology, organisational structures and modern strategies have their place, they can never replace men and women who are yielded to the Holy Spirit.
According to him, heaven is searching for three kinds of people to fulfil God’s redemptive mission: preachers who will boldly proclaim the gospel, authentic Christians whose lives reflect the character of Christ, and unleashed servants of God who are willing to leave their comfort zones, endure hardship and go the extra mile for the Kingdom.
Calling every believer to personal responsibility, Apostle Nyamekye said the greatest barrier to world evangelisation is not the unbelieving world but Christians who remain silent.
“The problem is not the sinner. The problem is the believer who refuses to preach the Word,” he emphasised, encouraging Christians to boldly share the message of salvation wherever they find themselves.
Beyond preaching, he urged believers to embody the gospel through lives of integrity, humility and Christlike character, stressing that authentic Christian living is one of the most compelling testimonies to an unbelieving world.
“The gospel must not only be proclaimed; it must also be lived,” he said, explaining that transformed lives make the message of Christ attractive and credible to those who have yet to believe.
Bringing his message to a stirring conclusion, the Chairman challenged Christians to reject lives centred on comfort and self-preservation and instead pursue lives of eternal significance.
Quoting the well-known prayer of the 18th-century evangelist John Wesley, Apostle Nyamekye prayed:
“Lord, do not let me live uselessly.”
He encouraged participants to dedicate themselves fully to God’s purpose, reminding them that heaven is still searching for men and women who will answer the call to proclaim the gospel, reflect Christ and become instruments through whom the Holy Spirit transforms society.
