About 300 youths from seven Christian denominations across the Offinso Municipality gathered at the Offinso Obuasi Central Auditorium on Monday, January 5, 2026, to participate in the Youth Empowerment Forum (YEF’26) organised by the Offinso Obuasi District of The Church of Pentecost in the Offinso Area.
The forum, spearheaded by the District Youth Ministry, was held under the theme “Uncovering Your Potential to Transform Your World,” drawn from 3 John 1:3. The programme sought to help young men and women identify, appreciate, and productively apply their God-given potentials in transforming their communities for Christ.
The knowledge-packed event featured Mr. Daniel Asomani, a young Ghanaian entrepreneur and politician, as the main speaker. He is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of VODEC Africa and the Convener of the National Emerging Leaders Economic Forum, Ghana’s largest youth leadership gathering, which annually brings together between 3,000 and 5,000 emerging leaders.
In his presentation, Mr. Asomani—who is also a member of The Church of Pentecost—highlighted several biblical youth figures who transformed their generation, including Samuel, Jeremiah, Esther, Daniel, David, and Mary. He outlined three pillars of transformation: vision, diligence, and integrity.
He explained vision as the ability to see beyond present circumstances into the future God has prepared—“seeing the invisible.” Diligence, he noted, is the consistent hard work required to turn vision into reality, stressing that “potential without work is just a wish.” On integrity, he described it as the foundation of character that sustains long-term success, adding that while talent can take one to the top, it is character that keeps one there.
In concluding his address, Mr. Asomani charged the participants with thought-provoking statements, including: “Your background is not the reason for your back to be on the ground,” “The graveyard is the richest place on earth—do not die with your potential inside you,” and “Your location does not determine your destination; your revelation does.”
The forum also featured an address by the Offinso Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Frank Owusu Amoah, who served as the Special Guest of Honour. He encouraged the youth to position themselves strategically and take advantage of government policies and initiatives to unlock their full potential.
Also present were Rev. Emmanuel Addae, Pastor of Maranatha Assemblies of God and Chairman of the Offinso Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), alongside ten other ministers from various denominations and several ministers’ wives.
