The President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has extended heartfelt Easter greetings to Christians across the country, urging Ghanaians to embrace the message of the cross in their daily lives.
In a message issued on Thursday, April 17, 2025, Apostle Nyamekye, on behalf of the National Executive Council of the GPCC, reflected on the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, describing the cross as the eternal symbol of salvation, hope, and victory for all believers.
Quoting Galatians 6:14, Apostle Nyamekye reminded Christians that while the cross may represent suffering, it ultimately reveals the profound love of Christ who laid down His life for humanity. “Let us remember that it was not nails that held Him to the cross, but love – love for you and love for me,” he emphasized.
He added that the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross was not only redemptive for individuals but has the power to transform entire nations. “Ghana, like many nations of the world, stands in need of healing, peace, and righteousness. During this Easter, may we turn our hearts back to the power of the cross,” he urged.
The GPCC President called on Christians to go beyond the remembrance of Christ’s death and live out the message of the cross daily, especially in their families, workplaces, churches, and communities. Citing Luke 9:23, he called for lives marked by humility, service, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.
“Although Good Friday speaks of death and sorrow, Easter Sunday brings us the full picture: the tomb is empty! Because Christ lives, we have hope for tomorrow,” Apostle Nyamekye declared, referencing Matthew 28:6.
In the face of economic difficulties, social unrest, and moral decline, he encouraged believers not to lose hope but to hold fast to the old rugged cross and the victory it represents.
He concluded by calling on all Ghanaians to let the message of the cross guide their decisions and actions, reminding them that “God sees, God cares, and God saves.”
“May this Easter bring spiritual renewal to every home, every church, and every leader in Ghana,” he prayed. Apostle Nyamekye ended the message with a timeless declaration of the Christian faith: “Christ is Risen! He is Risen Indeed!”
