“God is working His purpose out as year succeeds to year, God is working His purpose out, the time is drawing near…”
These timeless words of the hymn echoed in my heart throughout PENTECOST 2026 in Germany. As thousands of believers gathered from different nations under one roof, one undeniable truth became evident. The Pentecost Movement is not merely a denomination; it is God’s divine movement unfolding throughout history.
History has repeatedly shown that every genuine move of God carries a divine purpose. God never acts without intention. From Abraham’s calling, through Israel’s formation, to the coming of Christ, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and the global expansion of the Church, every season reveals that God is steadily accomplishing His eternal plan.
This is why the opening message delivered by the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye, was not simply another conference sermon. It was a reminder that the Church exists because God Himself is advancing His agenda on earth. The Church does not create God’s purpose; rather, it participates in it.
God’s Work Never Stops
One of the strongest impressions from the Chairman’s messages was that God has never abandoned His work. While generations rise and fall, governments change, cultures evolve and civilizations advance, God’s mission remains constant.
The Church exists because heaven has a mission.
The Holy Spirit was not poured out merely to produce emotional experiences but to empower ordinary men and women to become witnesses of Christ until every nation hears the gospel.
This explains why, over a century after its birth, The Church of Pentecost continues to expand into nations and cultures across the world. Human strategies alone cannot explain this growth. Behind every missionary, every local assembly planted, every soul won and every transformed community is the invisible hand of God working His purpose out.
The Pentecost Movement Is God’s Movement
The conference reminded the Church that the Pentecost Movement belongs to God.
Its growth is God’s growth.
Its expansion is God’s expansion.
Its victories are God’s victories.
Whenever God raises a movement, He also raises people who will faithfully carry His vision. The responsibility of every believer is therefore not to invent a new agenda but to align with the divine agenda already established by Christ.
As Apostle Dr. Eric Nyamekye continually teaches, the Church must remain faithful to Scripture, dependent on the Holy Spirit and committed to the Great Commission. Only then can the Church continue to fulfil God’s purpose in every generation.
The Church Is Still Marching
From the Upper Room in Jerusalem to Oberhausen in Germany…
From a small prayer meeting in Acts 2 to thousands of worshippers gathered at PENTECOST 2026…
The same Holy Spirit is still at work.
The same gospel is still changing lives.
The same Christ is still building His Church.
This should inspire every member of The Church of Pentecost. We are not spectators in God’s programme; we are participants in His redemptive mission.
Every soul won…
Every local assembly established…
Every child discipled…
Every missionary sent…
Every prayer offered…
forms part of God’s eternal purpose unfolding before our eyes. The Time Is Drawing Near
The hymn says;
“Nearer and nearer draws the time, the time that shall surely be, when the earth shall be filled with the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.”
These words beautifully capture the heartbeat of the Pentecost Movement.
Our mission is not merely church growth.
Our mission is not simply increasing membership.
Our mission is that the knowledge of the Lord will cover the earth.
Every evangelistic effort, every act of discipleship, every church planted, every transformed community points to that glorious day when Christ shall reign over all.
Our Generation Must Not Fail
The question confronting every believer is simple:
Will our generation advance God’s purpose or merely admire it?
God is still working.
The Holy Spirit is still moving.
The Church is still expanding.
The nations are still waiting.
The Pentecost Movement therefore calls every believer to active participation, not passive observation. We have been entrusted with the gospel, empowered by the Holy Spirit, and commissioned by Christ Himself.
Indeed, God is working His purpose out. The privilege of our generation is to join Him while there is still time.
