The Volta River Authority (VRA) has been recognised as a continental leader in public procurement, clinching three major awards at the 2025 Africa Procurement and Supply Chain Summit in Lagos.
The VRA was celebrated for its innovative procurement practices and leadership, winning the Excellence in Vendor Engagement award for its Oracle Fusion-powered digital platform, which enables transparent and independent vendor participation. The Authority also earned the Procurement Team of the Year (Silver) award for aligning with national frameworks and enhancing long-term value.
In a notable individual achievement, Jacob Fosu Kyei, VRA’s Director of Procurement, was named Africa’s Innovative Public Procurement Leader of the Year, recognising his role in governance-led reforms and digital transformation. These accolades affirm VRA’s position as a trailblazer in African public procurement.
