US Strikes Iran Nuclear Sites, Escalating Israel-Iran Conflict

Global tensions are escalating after the United States launched a series of precision airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, marking a significant shift in the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict. The strikes have triggered immediate geopolitical and economic ripples, prompting urgent calls for de-escalation from world leaders.

Late last night, American fighter jets struck three of Iran’s most sensitive nuclear facilities. The move follows months of rising hostilities between Israel and Iran, characterized by missile exchanges, drone attacks, and proxy conflicts spanning several continents.

Speaking from the White House, President Donald Trump described the operation as a “spectacular military success,” warning Tehran against retaliation.

“Any retaliation will be met with force far greater than what was seen tonight,” he said.

Iran’s leadership has vowed to respond, with Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei calling the strikes a “blatant act of war.”

Analysts warn that Iran could respond by targeting critical oil infrastructure in the Gulf or disrupting shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. A vital passageway for nearly 20% of global oil exports.

Senior energy analyst Saul Kavonic cautioned, ’Even a limited disruption in the Strait of Hormuz could send oil prices skyrocketing, destabilizing markets and supply chains around the world.”

Global health leaders are also raising alarms. The World Health Organization warned that surging energy prices could impair the global health supply chain, especially in low-income nations that depend on fuel to deliver essential medical goods.

Markets have responded with volatility. While the U.S. dollar has weakened in 2025, analysts say the uncertainty of a major conflict could trigger a temporary “flight to safety,” strengthening the dollar and driving U.S. Treasury yields lower.
