
Firefighters from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in the Eastern Region swiftly responded to a fire outbreak at Koforidua Zongo, successfully bringing the blaze under control and preventing further destruction.
According to officials, a distress call was received, and a team led by ADO Il Yenli promptly arrived at the scene. The fire had engulfed a chamber and hall, as well as part of a three-bedroom apartment. The team managed to contain the flames quickly, fully extinguishing the fire shortly afterward.
While the fire caused extensive damage to the chamber and hall, destroying household items such as furniture and electrical appliances, only partial damage was reported in one room of the three-bedroom structure. The rest of the building was saved due to the quick intervention of the firefighters.
Fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were recorded. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, and GNFS has urged residents to observe fire safety precautions to avoid future incidents.
