IGP Apologizes to Bawku Youth, Assures Swift Action to Address Grievances

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has rendered an unreserved apology to the youth and residents of Bawku over the recent actions of some police officers deployed to the conflict-prone area.

During a visit to Bawku following the recent violent clashes, the IGP acknowledged the deep-seated concerns of the youth, many of whom displayed placards highlighting their grievances during his interaction with them.

Mr. Yohuno apologized on behalf of the Ghana Police Service, asking for forgiveness and assuring the people of Bawku that their complaints are being taken seriously by the Police Administration.

He appealed to the youth to lay down their arms and cooperate with security agencies to help restore peace and stability in the area.

The IGP further assured the residents that the Police Administration will take swift and decisive action on all the issues raised. He emphasized the importance of collaboration between the police and local community leaders in rebuilding trust and fostering peaceful coexistence.

Mr. Yohuno expressed hope that Bawku, once known for its vibrancy and peaceful atmosphere, will soon regain its former glory through collective efforts and dialogue.
