Pastor Maxwell Adubofourh Asiedu, the Yennyawoso District Minister of The Church of Pentecost, has described prayer as a serious business.

Speaking on the topic, “The Church Unleashed Is A Prayerful Church,” during the opening of the New Tafo Area Week Celebration, themed, “Characteristics of the Unleashed Church,” on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at the Yennyawoso Central Assembly auditorium, he emphasised the diligent nature of prayer, comparing it to business.

Pastor Adubofourh referenced several quotes to highlight the transformative power of prayer, underscoring the necessity for Christians to commit wholeheartedly to it. He noted a significant shift from a mediated relationship with God in the Old Testament regarding prayer to a direct and personal relationship in the New Testament.

“In the New Testament Church, we do not engage in consultations because the Holy Spirit dwells in us, and when we pray, He hears us. Unlike in the Old Testament, where the Spirit of God came upon certain individuals for His work, requiring people to consult them in case of any need,” he remarked.

Reading from 1 Kings 17:1 and 18:42, Pastor Adubofourh elaborated on Elijah’s prayer life, portraying a praying church as a powerful entity saturated with God’s presence. He stated, “God’s presence is evident wherever prayer is made,” urging Christians to maintain a prayerful life to experience His power.
