The former International Missions Director of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel Gyesi-Addo (retd), has indicated that the mandate of soul-winning is both a collective and individual responsibility, urging all Christians to actively participate in this divine commission.

He said this in a sermon titled, ‘Unleashed to Save the Never-Dying Soul,’ on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, during the Greater Accra Regional Ministers & Wives’ Conference at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa-Fetteh,

He highlighted that societal transformation begins with the individual’s conversion, underscoring the importance of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Quoting Mark 8:36-37, Apostle Gyesi-Addo (retd) posed the question: ‘What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?’

He reminded believers that while worldly achievements are transient, the soul is eternal and invaluable.

Apostle Gyesi-Addo further explained that accepting Jesus Christ allows individuals to embrace Him as their advocate; otherwise, they will face Him as their judge, referencing John 5:22-23.

He emphasised that the soul’s true purpose is realised only when connected to its original source, a connection restored solely through Christ.

The former International Missions Director cautioned against local assemblies becoming inward-focused, neglecting the mission of soul-winning.

‘The church is called to win souls; that is why in The Church of Pentecost we say, ‘souls won’ and not ‘bodies won,’ he reiterated.

He concluded by calling upon believers to urgently proclaim Jesus Christ, the only name that saves, to a perishing world, aligning with the church’s transformation agenda under Vision 2028.
