The Abuakwa Area Prisons Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, in collaboration with the Area Women’s Ministry, has embarked on a charitable mission to donate essential items to the Kumasi Female Prison.

The donation, made on December 30, 2024, aimed to improve the living conditions and hygiene of the female inmates at the facility.

The items, valued at GH¢15,000.00, included 10 boxes of soap, 20 boxes of toothpaste, three boxes of toothbrushes, 33 blankets, 55 towels, five packs of toilet rolls, 50 pairs of bathroom slippers, and 10 boxes of sanitary pads. Others comprised five large boxes of washing powder, 30 crates of soft drinks, four boxes of Kivi Gari, half a bag of gari, 20 packs of mineral water, and 80 pieces of bread.

Receiving the items, the prison officials expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the church for the generosity.

The church delegation appealed to the prison authorities to ensure the equitable distribution of the donated items among the inmates. They also encouraged other organisations and individuals to support the facility with donations and other forms of assistance.

The Area Prisons Ministry and the Women’s Ministry have demonstrated their commitment to showing compassion and care to those in need. This donation will significantly improve the living conditions and hygiene of the inmates.

Present at the presentation ceremony were Mrs Juliana Appiah Aidoo (Wife of the Area Head), Pastor Benjamin Yeboah (Area Prisons Chairman), Mrs Christine Akoto Yeboah (Wife of Saakrom District Minister), Elder Jacob Boadi (Area Ex-Offenders Coordinator), Elder Simon Agyapong (Area Prison Coordinator), Deaconess Diana Osei (Area Women’s Leader), Deaconess Doris Kyei (Area Assistant Women’s Leader), and district Women’s Ministry leaders in the Area, among others.
