Unleashed To Close The ‘Back Door’: The Good Shepherd’s Approach

Features
The church, as the body of Christ, has been divinely mandated to advance God's Kingdom by making disciples of all nations and equipping them for spiritual growth. It serves as a gateway, drawing the lost into God’s redemptive plan through the proclamation of the Gospel and the transformative power of Jesus Christ. Yet, while many enter through the ‘front door’ of salvation, some silently slip away, a phenomenon often termed “exiting through the back door.” Whether new converts, long-time attendees, or believers struggling in their faith, their unnoticed departure weakens the church’s witness and hinders its mission. Jesus, in Matthew 18:12-14, exemplifies the heart of a shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to seek the one lost sheep. This illustrates the responsibility of church leaders ...

Live The Resurrected Life In Christ Jesus – Apostle Dr Jimmy Markin To Christians

Pentecost News
The Cape Coast Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Amos Jimmy Markin, has stated that the resurrected life in Christ Jesus is not merely an annual Easter celebration but rather a daily walk of transformation. He made this statement during the recently held Easter Convention, organised by the Cape Coast, Aboom, and Nkanfoa districts in Cape Coast. Focusing on unveiling the depth and significance of living the resurrected life in Christ, Apostle Dr Markin cited Romans 8:2 and Romans 8:9-11 and explained that accepting Christ ushers believers into a brand-new life, a life that was unavailable in the days of Adam but made accessible through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This new life, he said, is imparted into the hearts of those who believe through the indwell...

Remontada: The Power Of A Comeback

“And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.” Romans 8:11 (NIV) THE RESURRECTION STILL SPEAKS The resurrection of Jesus is not a distant historical memory. It is the living, active power of God, working within every believer today. That same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwells in us, creating what can only be described as divine Remontadas — dramatic, Spirit-led comebacks from the pit of despair to the mountaintop of victory. “Remontada” is a Spanish term that describes a stirring turnaround from defeat to triumph, especially in the realm of football. It’s more than just a comeback; it’s a breathtaking reversal that stuns the...
Jesus Christ, The Perfect Sacrifice For Sin

Jesus Christ, The Perfect Sacrifice For Sin

Features
At the very heart of the Christian faith lies a profound and transformative truth: Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice for sin. Unlike any other offering made under the Old Covenant, His sacrifice was once and for all—eternal in effect and divine in origin. But what truly sets Jesus apart as the perfect sacrifice is His complete and total victory over all seven consequences of sin. Let’s take a closer look at each one: 1. Curse A curse is a spiritual force that brings misfortune, limitation, or destruction. It is the opposite of a blessing and can affect individuals, families, or entire generations. In Genesis 9:25, we see the biblical concept of a curse expressed: "Cursed be Canaan! The lowest of slaves will he be to his brothers." However, through Christ, this spiritual...
Jesus Christ, The Perfect Master

Jesus Christ, The Perfect Master

Features
Jesus Christ stands as the Perfect Master, reigning supreme over every aspect of life. His mastery is evident through seven extraordinary signs recorded in the Gospel of John, each revealing His divine authority and boundless power. In the Gospel of John, Jesus’ extraordinary deeds are described as “signs” (Greek: σημεῖα, ‘sēmeia’), unlike the Synoptic Gospels (Matthew, Mark, and Luke), which refer to them as “miracles” or “wonders” (Greek: δυνάμεις, ‘dynameis’). John’s choice of the term “signs” highlights their deeper meaning beyond mere supernatural acts. These events serve as revelations of Jesus’ divine nature and mission, pointing to His identity as the Son of God. Rather than being just displays of power, they function as significant markers that invite faith and demonstrate H...

Vision 2028 is the strategic framework of The Church of Pentecost for the period 2023–2028. It builds upon the foundation of Vision 2023 with a renewed focus on equipping and commissioning believers to transform their societies with Kingdom values and principles. The overarching theme of Vision 2028 is: “Possessing the Nations: Unleashing the Whole Church for the Transformation of Their World with the Values and Principles of the Kingdom of God.” This is a call for Christians to make a tangible impact in their spheres of influence by applying the teachings they receive in their daily lives. Understanding Practical Christian Living Christianity is not merely a set of beliefs to profess but a life to be lived. It is a way of life centred on Jesus Christ, who embodies what every Chri...

The Death Of Jesus Is Enough For Us – Apostle Nyamekye

Ghana News, Pentecost News
“We should no longer fear death because Christ has broken the power of death and freed us. Jesus’ death for us is enough.” These were the words of the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, as he delivered a sermon on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) Asokwa, Kumasi, during the climax of their 2023 Christmas convention. Speaking on the topic, “The Virgin Birth,” the Chairman asserted that the essence of Christmas lies in the profound narratives of Jesus Christ’s incarnation and sacrificial death for humanity. Highlighting the Christian faith’s distinctiveness, Apostle Nyamekye underscored the importance of two fundamental beliefs: the incarnation, signifying God becoming man, and the death and resurrection of Chris...

56 Slaves In Pakistan Run To Jesus Christ

On May 28, 2023, 56 enslaved people from the brick line factory in Shakhopura, Pakistan, surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ and allowed themselves to be baptised in water. The Church of Pentecost, Pakistan, which led the outreach, presented Urdu Bibles to the new converts to help them learn more about Jesus Christ. The Church also gave them meals. The Church of Pentecost team often visits the brick line factory to worship with them. The people have been enslaved for generations since their forefathers had a debt that was becoming unbearable for them, and the outcome was slavery. The Church provides them with access to basic education, weekly worship services, and a tent at their workplace where they may attend church services and eat. We pray that our faithful ...

Pastor dies attempting 40-day Jesus fast

International
A Mozambican pastor has died after fasting for 40 days, in an attempt to copy what Jesus Christ is said to have done in the Bible. The death of Francisco Barajah, the pastor and founder of the Santa Trindade Evangelical Church in the central province of Manica, was confirmed on Wednesday. He died while being treated at hospital in Beira where he was evacuated in critical condition. After 25 days of fasting, he had lost a lot of weight to a point where he could not stand up, bathe or walk. Days later, at the insistence of relatives and believers, he was taken to a hospital but attempts to get him back to health were unsuccessful. Believers at his church and his neighbours have been unsurprised at the turn of events, due to his extreme weight loss and disfigured body frame in ...
