The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has acknowledged Ghana’s economic recovery, noting growth in crucial economic sectors. During an interview with Bernard Avle on Citi TV’s The Point of View, IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva underscored the improving growth prospects for Ghana following the conclusion of its bailout programme. African Games 2023: Gold medalists to get $3000 as Ghana announces reward package for athletes

Ghana's Ministry of Youth and Sports has announced reward packages for athletes who win medals at the 2023 African Games in Accra. According to the ministry, winning a gold medal will attract a prize of $3000, $2000 for winning a silver medal, while bronze medals will attract a cash prize of $1000. The figures were revealed at a press briefing in Accra on Sunday evening, the eve of the start of the athletics leg of the games. Athletes will also receive Ghs 1000 per diem for each of the 14 days they will be in camp during the games. Ghana has already won 46 medals after 10 days of competition, with 9 gold, 22 silver, 15 bronze. There is a nationwide internet disruption in Ghana and according to the National Communications Authority (NCA), it is due to outages on multiple submarine fibre optic cables that connect Ghana. The NCA in a press statement explained that multiple undersea cable disruptions have affected Mobile and Fixed Data services nationwide in Ghana. It said the disruptions affecting the multiple undersea cables responsible for carrying international traffic have occurred in Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire.
