Facebook users are now able to delete some personal information that can be used by the company in the training of generative artificial intelligence models. Meta updated the Facebook help center resource section on its website this week to include a form titled “Generative AI Data Subject Rights,” which allows users to “submit requests related to your third party information being used for generative AI model training.” The company is adding the opt-out tool as generative AI technology is taking off across tech, with companies creating more advanced chatbots and turning simple text into sophisticated answers and images. As the African region marks one year since the last confirmed detection of wild poliovirus type 1, Ministers of Health and other health leaders gathering for the Seventy-third session of the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Committee for Africa today pledged to intensify efforts to end all forms of the virus. The region’s last confirmed case of wild poliovirus, linked to a strain circulating in Pakistan, was reported in August 2022 in Mozambique’s Tete province. Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak, Dr Nyaho Nyaho-Tamkloe, has called on Division One League side King Faisal to take their injunction against the 2023 Ghana Football Association (GFA) Elective Congress from court. Last Monday, King Faisal and its lawyer filed the motion in the Accra High Court. They contend that the GFA’s statutes prohibit a legal Congress from convening to elect the GFA President until the new members or representatives of the Executive Committee have been duly elected. Army officers have appeared on national television in Gabon to say they have taken power. They said they were annulling the results of Saturday’s election, in which President Ali Bongo was declared the winner. The electoral commission said Mr Bongo had won just under two-thirds of the votes in an election the opposition argued was fraudulent. His overthrow would end his family’s 53-year hold on power in Gabon.
