Apostle Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, has urged media professionals around the world to offer true content that educates, informs, and entertains the audience without causing friction, breeding confusion, or damaging society’s moral foundation.
Apostle Nyamekye stated that Ghana’s media environment remained one of the most vibrant in Africa, adding that, “journalists have to be professional and give maximum attention in presenting honest information.”
The aforementioned remarks were given by Apostle Nyamekye during the launch of the Pentecost Television (PENT TV) Free-To-Air Platform yesterday at The Church of Pentecost General Headquarters at La in Accra.
According to the Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, the media is the intermediary that links individuals from all nations and cultures. This, he believes, provides a variety of opportunities for Christian Media Networks to change the conscience of nations and cultures across the world.
He entreated members of the church and beyond to patronise Pentecost Television on Channel 34, since it has reviewed its existing contents and developed innovative, entertaining, and life-transforming content that are youth and gender friendly.
PENT TV was set up and launched in October 2014, and February 2015 respectively. In October 2021, the Church acquired the Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) license to go free-to-air.
The 14-member PENT Media Centre Board includes Apostles Samuel Yaw Antwi (Chairman), Lawrence Otu-Nyarko (Financial & Administrative Director, CoP), Pastors Kwasi Asante Annor (Secretary), Dr. Felix Dela Klutse (Media Ministry Pastor), and Paul Odai Laryea.
Others are Elders Dr. Adom Adu-Amoah, Charles O. Frimpong, Matthew Nkansah, Justice Eric Kyei Barfour, Lawyer Peter Adaliwe Kaba, Isaac Boamah Darko, Philip Osei Bonsu, Deaconess Efua Garbrah-Sarfo, and Ms. Akua Boakyewa Yiadom.
