The Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has commended the Pioneer Resident Campus Pastor of the Pentecost Students and Associates (PENSA) KNUST, Pastor Jonathan Ebo Quaye, and his wife, Dr. Mrs. Joanna Dwomoh Quaye, for their outstanding contribution to the spiritual, moral, and personal development of students during their years of service at the University.
The commendation was delivered at a farewell service held on Saturday, July 19, 2026, at the PENSA KNUST Auditorium, where more than 2,000 students, university officials, clergy, alumni, and members of The Church of Pentecost gathered to celebrate the couple’s ministry.
Representing the University Management, the Registrar, Mr. Benjamin Boampong Owusu (Esq.), said Pastor Quaye’s ministry had complemented the University’s mission of producing graduates with strong character and integrity. He noted that beyond academic excellence, universities have a responsibility to nurture students who are morally grounded and socially responsible.
He praised Pastor Quaye’s commitment to counselling, mentorship, and spiritual formation, describing his leadership as one that positively influenced many students throughout his tenure.
Mr. Owusu also lauded PENSA KNUST for its positive impact on campus, attributing the discipline, character, and conduct of its members to the quality of leadership and values imparted under Pastor Quaye.
Reflecting on the emotional farewell, the Registrar said the affection shown by students demonstrated the profound influence the outgoing campus pastor had on their lives.
Quoting 2 Timothy 4:7, he stated, “I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith,” adding that although Pastor Quaye’s assignment at KNUST had ended, he was confident the same passion and dedication would continue to bear fruit in his new ministerial assignment.
On behalf of the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management, Mr. Owusu thanked Pastor Jonathan Ebo Quaye and Dr. Mrs. Joanna Dwomoh Quaye for their selfless service and wished them God’s guidance and success as they begin a new phase of ministry.
The farewell service was attended by senior officials of KNUST and leaders of The Church of Pentecost, including Apostle Peter Kofi Dzemekey, Ashanti Regional Coordinating Committee Coordinator, alongside pastors, church leaders, staff, alumni, and members of the PENSA KNUST community.
