The Church of Pentecost is set to host the third edition of the National Development Conference (NADEC) from July 8 to 10, 2026, at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC), Gomoa Fetteh, under the theme: “Moral Vision and National Development.”
Following the inaugural National Development Conference held in July 2023 and the second edition, held as the All Ministers’ Conference in September 2023 under the theme, “Moral Vision and National Development: The Role of the Church,” this year’s gathering is expected to once again bring together Ghana’s political, judicial, traditional, religious and civil society leaders to engage in solution-driven conversations on the country’s development trajectory.
NADEC has established itself as a unique national platform where faith, governance, public policy and traditional leadership converge to deliberate on the moral foundations necessary for sustainable national development.
Looking Back: The First Edition of NADEC 2023
The inaugural National Development Conference, held in July 2023, marked a significant milestone in Ghana’s national discourse. Convened by The Church of Pentecost under the leadership of its Chairman, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, the conference sought to address the country’s growing moral deficit and its impact on governance, leadership, institutions and national development.
The conference attracted an unprecedented gathering of political leaders, jurists, traditional rulers, religious leaders and governance experts, each offering perspectives on how moral values can drive national transformation.
Then Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia described The Church of Pentecost as a steadfast development partner and stressed that Ghana’s development must be anchored on integrity, accountability and strong collaboration between the State and faith-based organisations.
Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin urged political leaders to place Ghana above partisan interests, insisting that ethical leadership is indispensable for sustainable national development.
Then Chief Justice Gertrude Araba Esaaba Sackey Torkornoo underscored the close relationship between justice and development, noting that national progress depends on the rule of law, institutional integrity and fairness.
Former President John Agyekum Kufuor called for principled leadership, patriotism and discipline, while then former President John Dramani Mahama encouraged sustained national dialogue on morality and governance beyond the conference itself.
Constitutional scholar Prof. H. Kwasi Prempeh highlighted the need to strengthen institutions that promote accountability and constitutional governance, while Most Rev. Matthew Kwasi Gyamfi encouraged religious bodies to work together in shaping the nation’s moral conscience.
In his opening and closing addresses, Apostle Eric Nyamekye called for a shared national moral vision capable of inspiring ethical leadership, responsible citizenship and lasting national transformation. The conference eventually produced a communiqué recommending, among others, values-based education, stronger institutional integrity and the establishment of a National Moral and Integrity Council.
The Second Edition: All Ministers’ Conference 2023
The second edition of NADEC was held as the All Ministers’ Conference from September 20 to 22, 2023, at the Pentecost Convention Centre, Gomoa Fetteh, under the theme, “Moral Vision and National Development: The Role of the Church.”
The conference brought together thousands of ministers and church leaders from across Ghana to examine the role of the Church in translating the moral vision articulated at the inaugural NADEC into practical action.
It reinforced the conviction that while national transformation requires effective public leadership, sound institutions and strategic policies, the Church also has a critical role to play in shaping values, nurturing ethical leadership and influencing society through the principles of the Kingdom of God.
NADEC Returns for Its Third Edition
Nearly three years after the inaugural conference and following the second edition held as the All Ministers’ Conference, The Church of Pentecost is returning with the third edition of the National Development Conference (NADEC).
The 2026 edition retains the theme, “Moral Vision and National Development,” reflecting the Church’s conviction that Ghana’s developmental challenges require not only economic and political solutions but also moral and ethical renewal.
This year’s conference will feature presentations by Apostle Dr Eric Nyamekye, Chairman of The Church of Pentecost; H.E. Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Vice President of the Republic of Ghana; Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament; His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, Chief Justice of Ghana; Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs; and Sheikh Armiyawo Shaibu, Spokesperson for the National Chief Imam.
The calibre and diversity of the speakers underscore NADEC’s commitment to fostering dialogue among Ghana’s key leadership institutions and sectors of society.
Why NADEC Matters
At a time when nations are increasingly recognising that sustainable development depends as much on values as on economic growth, NADEC seeks to place morality at the centre of Ghana’s development conversation.
Beyond infrastructure and policy, the conference argues that qualities such as integrity, accountability, justice, patriotism and responsible leadership remain essential for building strong institutions and public trust.
For The Church of Pentecost, national transformation extends beyond spiritual ministry to include meaningful contributions to public life through thought leadership, policy dialogue and societal engagement. NADEC therefore aligns with the Church’s broader vision of transforming society through the values and principles of the Kingdom of God.
The conference also provides a rare opportunity for leaders from the Executive, Legislature, Judiciary, traditional institutions and the religious community to engage one another on issues of national importance from a common platform. By fostering dialogue across these sectors, NADEC seeks to inspire collective action towards building a more ethical, cohesive and prosperous Ghana.
With another impressive assembly of national leaders expected at the Pentecost Convention Centre from July 8 to 10, 2026, expectations are high that the third edition of NADEC will build on the momentum generated by the inaugural conference and the subsequent All Ministers’ Conference in 2023.
As discussions unfold under the theme “Moral Vision and National Development,” participants will once again explore how ethical leadership, responsible citizenship and shared national values can contribute to building a prosperous, peaceful and resilient Ghana.
More than just another conference, NADEC 2026 promises to continue a national conversation that began in 2023—challenging leaders and citizens alike to pursue development founded not only on policy and infrastructure, but also on character, integrity and moral purpose.
