The Women’s Ministry of The Church of Pentecost has officially launched its 2026 National Week Celebration, calling on Christian women to rise as agents of transformation through prayer and the power of the Holy Spirit.
The launch, led by the Women’s Ministry Director, Mrs Philomina Mireku, together with the wife of the Chairman of the Church, Mrs Mary Nyamekye, took place on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Abeka Central Auditorium in the Abeka Area in Accra.
The weeklong celebration, scheduled from Tuesday, May 5, to Sunday, May 10, 2026, is being observed across the country under the theme: “Women Unleashed to Transform Society with the Gospel through the Power of the Holy Spirit,” drawn from Acts 8:4–8, Acts 13:1–4, and Colossians 1:4–6.
Activities lined up for the celebration include evangelism outreaches, Bible quizzes, cooking competitions, health walks, and free health screenings, among others.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Nyamekye underscored the critical role of Christian women in influencing society through prayer and faith.
Referencing the biblical account of Esther, she urged women to remain steadfast in intercession during challenging times.
“As a woman, why are you scared when problems arise? When problems arise, we don’t eat and we don’t sleep, but we pray,” she stated.
She entreated women to stand in the gap for their families, communities, and nations, trusting in God’s power to bring transformation.
“The world is dark, dangerous, and fearful, but as women, we are the salt and light to cause change and transformation,” she added.
Mrs Nyamekye further encouraged women not to grow weary, noting that their strength lies in prayer and a firm grounding in the Word of God.
“The One behind us is not tired so we shouldn’t be tired. We must arise,” she urged.
The launch attracted hundreds of women in the Abeka Area, marking the beginning of a week dedicated to spiritual growth, outreach, and community impact.
