More than 400 children of ministers and church officers gathered in Tamale on Saturday, May 2, 2026, for a conference aimed at shaping their identity and responsibilities within their parents’ ministries.
The event, organised by the Tamale Area of The Church of Pentecost under the leadership of Apostle J. B. K. Tawiah, was centred on the theme, “Unleashed to be Examples to Others.” It reminded participants that they are key stakeholders in their parents’ ministries and are called to reflect Christ both in the church and society.
Mrs Agatha Tawiah, speaking on the occasion, encouraged the children to surrender themselves to God and become instruments of support in their parents’ ministry. She acknowledged the pressures of growing up under public scrutiny and the unique demands of life in a mission house, noting that such experiences help shape character and prepare them for future service.
Drawing from her personal experience as a pastor’s daughter, she explained that the discipline and exposure she received became foundational to her development. “Today, I can host over 1,000 visitors with ease because of that training,” she said. “At the time, we did not fully understand it, but God was preparing us.”
Mrs Tawiah encouraged participants to cultivate virtues such as hospitality, courtesy, and responsibility, describing them as essential for both ministry and personal growth. She also advised mothers present to intentionally guide young children of ministers and officers during church services to ensure order while their parents are ministering.
The conference was attended by Apostle Tawiah, ministers within the Tamale Area, their spouses, and a section of church officers.
