The Obuasi Area Head of The Church of Pentecost, Prophet David Kankam Beditor, has called on believers to depend solely on Jesus Christ for forgiveness and salvation, stressing that no one can cleanse themselves from sin.
Speaking on Saturday, April 4, 2026, during the Obuasi Area’s 2026 Easter Convention at the Obuasi Bidieso Zone on the topic, “Divine Exchange,” he explained that Jesus Christ, though sinless, took upon Himself the sins of humanity to bring redemption.
Quoting 1 Corinthians 5:21, Prophet Beditor noted that Christ “knew no sin” yet became sin for mankind, making it possible for believers to receive righteousness through Him.
Drawing from Leviticus 14, he likened the condition of a sinner to that of a leprous person in the Old Testament—unclean, isolated, and unable to restore themselves.
“In the Old Testament, a leprous person was considered unclean and was cast outside the city because of the contagious nature of the disease. They could not declare themselves clean; they had to present themselves to the priest for approval,” he explained.
He stressed that just as lepers depended on the priest for cleansing, sinners today must turn to Jesus Christ, who serves as the ultimate High Priest.
“The one who does not know Christ is like a leprous person. You cannot cleanse yourself. You must present yourself to Jesus, our High Priest, who alone can declare you free,” he stated.
Prophet Beditor further affirmed that Jesus Christ is the only one with the authority to forgive sins and grant victory over death.
“God has given Him the power over death and Hades. He alone has the authority to forgive sins and set us free,” he added.
He concluded by urging believers and non-believers alike to rely fully on Jesus Christ for forgiveness and transformation, describing Him as the only gateway to true spiritual freedom.
