In a gesture of interfaith goodwill, The Other Sheep Ministry of The Church of Pentecost, Tepa Area, presented food and essential items to the Muslim community in Hwidiem District ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr. Pastor Emmanuel Kwabena Mensah Adeti led the delegation.
The group presented five boxes of mineral water, three boxes of soft drinks, and assorted toiletries. Pastor Adeti said the gesture reflects the Church’s support for Muslims as they conclude the Ramadan fasting period. He also expressed gratitude to the Tepa Area Head, Apostle David Nii Addo-Pappoe, for supporting the ministry financially.
Speaking on behalf of the Area Coordinator, Elder John Ackah commended Muslims for observing the fasting period peacefully and offering prayers for the Hwidiem community. He noted that it was fitting for the Church to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr after 30 days of fasting and prayers. He wished them a happy Eid Mubarak, urging celebrations to be marked by peace, unity, and moderation.
The Chief Imam of Hwidiem, Alhaji Imam Ustaz, expressed appreciation for the donation, describing it as a positive step toward enabling Muslims to celebrate the festival meaningfully. He reminded the community that Eid is a time for piety, charity, and reflection on Ramadan’s lessons, rather than excessive celebration.
Muslim clerics from various mosques, including the Zongo Chief, Alhaji Sariki Bashiru, Alhaji Seidu Mohammed, Alhaji Awal Mohammed, and Alhaji Ahmed Iddrisu, attended the presentation. The Zongo Chief commended The Church of Pentecost for its religious tolerance and for demonstrating genuine love and friendship toward the Muslim community. He added that the gesture will strengthen lasting relations between Christian and Muslim residents in Hwidiem.
